What Our Clients Say

DK

David Kemp

Pattaya, long-term resident

"I brought in a vintage Seiko that hadn't been serviced in at least fifteen years. Tawan gave me a written condition note — it was thorough and honest without being alarmist. He explained what needed doing and what could wait. The watch now runs better than I ever expected. Highly recommended for anyone with an older piece."

"The crystal on my dress watch cracked and I was worried I would not find the right replacement in Thailand. Tawan Craft sourced a mineral glass that matched perfectly — correct size, correct curve. The bezel was also cleaned and the watch looks entirely fresh. The cost was exactly as quoted, which I appreciated."

Marcus Fleischer

German expat, Pattaya

"My father's watch — a Swiss piece from the late 1970s — had not run for years. I expected to be told it could not be fixed or that parts were unavailable. Instead Tawan took time to explain the options, found an appropriate mainspring, and the watch runs reliably now. The service took longer than I first hoped, but the quality justified the patience."

"Very straightforward from beginning to end. I left my dive watch for a service and bezel check. I was called when there was an update, and the watch was ready when promised. The rotating bezel now clicks cleanly. Small workshop with genuine attention to detail."

Pattaya, seasonal resident

"I have been looking for a good independent watchmaker in Thailand for years. Tawan Craft is it. I left three watches for the Essential Service. Each came back with a clear notes sheet and ran well. The communication throughout was good — I never felt I had to chase for an update."

"I inherited my grandfather's watch and wanted it to run again without ruining what makes it special. The written restoration plan was reassuring — it described exactly what would be done and what would be left alone. The dial was not touched, which was important to me. The movement is now reliable. I am very glad I found this workshop."

A Closer Look at Three Restorations

The Challenge

Vintage Omega — Non-Running, Unknown History

An Omega Genève from the early 1970s arrived not running. The caseback showed evidence of at least one previous opening, and the movement contained a non-original stem. The owner — a collector — wanted it running with as little intervention as possible.

The Work

Full movement clean, new mainspring, and a period-appropriate replacement stem were sourced. The dial — showing a gentle patina consistent with the watch's age — was left entirely undisturbed. The owner was consulted before each part decision was made.

The Outcome

The watch returned to reliable daily wear, running within ±8 seconds per day. The collector noted the dial and hands remained authentic. Timeline: 8 weeks from assessment to collection.

"Exactly what I hoped for — running well and still looking its age."

The Challenge

Dive Watch — Cracked Crystal, Water Ingress

A sports diver arrived with a badly cracked acrylic crystal following an impact. Moisture had entered the case, and there was visible fogging on the dial and early signs of surface corrosion on the movement.

The Work

Crystal replaced with a period-appropriate acrylic; the movement was fully cleaned and dried; light corrosion treated; bezel reseated. The movement also received a full service to address the moisture contamination. Costs confirmed before the full service proceeded.

The Outcome

Watch returned in fully working order with no visible moisture damage. Rate: ±5 seconds per day. Timeline: 3 weeks. The owner noted they had been concerned the dial was ruined; the careful drying process preserved it.

"I thought it was finished. Very relieved it was not."

The Challenge

Routine Maintenance Fleet — Three Watches at Once

A long-term Pattaya resident brought in three automatic watches for overdue servicing — a mix of brands and ages, all previously running but each overdue by several years. He wanted clear notes on each and no surprises.

The Work

All three received the Essential Service Package. Each was assessed individually and given a separate condition note. One watch required a minor part in addition to the service, which was discussed and agreed before proceeding.

The Outcome

All three returned serviced and regulated within 4 weeks. Each came with its own condition sheet. The owner has since returned with a fourth watch. Total: ฿14,800 for the three services including the additional part.

"Exactly as described. Good communication throughout."
