What Working With Us Looks Like
Written Condition Notes
After assessment you receive a written summary of the watch's condition, a recommended service path, and a clear cost before anything proceeds.
Nothing Without Agreement
Work only begins once the owner has reviewed the assessment and is comfortable to proceed. No surprises in the final invoice.
Timing Equipment
Movements are tested on a timing machine in multiple positions after service. Rate and amplitude are checked before the watch is returned.
Heritage-First Restorations
Collectible and inherited watches are approached conservatively. Preservation of original character guides every decision, rather than cosmetic renewal.
Walk-In Consultation
Bring the watch in during workshop hours and the initial assessment is carried out in conversation — no appointment needed for a first look.
Open Communication
Questions at any stage are welcomed. Progress updates during longer restoration work keep owners comfortable and informed.
In More Detail
The Reasons Owners Return
Expertise in the Movement
The workshop's work centres on mechanical and automatic calibres — the kind of movements where hand skills matter more than software. Over many years of practice, the team has developed familiarity with a wide range of Swiss and Asian calibres, including vintage examples where factory data is scarce.
- Movement disassembly, cleaning, and reassembly by hand
- Experience with Swiss lever, cylinder, and Asian-market calibres
- Vintage movement work handled with appropriate care
A Clear Process
Each service or restoration follows a consistent sequence: assessment, written report, owner agreement, work, timing verification, and return. No steps are skipped, and none are added without discussion. The process is the same whether the watch is worth ฿5,000 or ฿500,000.
- Structured, repeatable service steps
- Written documentation at the assessment stage
- Post-service timing check as standard
Service Built Around the Owner
The workshop is not a franchise or a mail-in operation. It is a small team in a known location, reachable by phone or in person. When you leave a watch here, you can ask about its progress, discuss findings, and make decisions throughout — not just at the start and end.
- Accessible, personal communication
- Progress updates during restoration work
- Decisions made with the owner, not for them
Clear, Fixed Pricing
Each service has a published starting price in Thai Baht. For restorations where additional parts may be needed, the scope is discussed and agreed before any expenditure beyond the initial assessment. There is no pressure to spend more than the job requires.
- Published prices: ฿4,500 / ฿7,900 / ฿15,000 starting points
- Any additional costs discussed before they are incurred
- Payment in Thai Baht, cash or PromptPay

What Sets Us Apart
Distinctive Features of the Workshop
The Consultation is Free
Bringing your watch in for an initial look costs nothing. The assessment is carried out in conversation, and you are under no obligation to proceed with any service.
Vintage Work Is a Speciality
Many workshops prefer to decline watches older than twenty years. Tawan Craft finds this work among the most rewarding — bringing a dormant movement back into reliable service without erasing what makes it interesting.
Local, Known, Accessible
18 Beach Road is a fixed address. The same people handle your watch throughout. There is no courier involved, no call centre, and no uncertainty about where your watch is at any point.
Service Warranty on Work
The Essential Service Package includes a service warranty on the work carried out. If the movement develops a fault attributable to the service within the warranty period, it will be addressed at no additional cost.
